At Worth Data we manufacture or have manufactured to our strict specifications the worlds best bar code scanners and scanning equipment. All of the scanners are designed to attach exclusively to our equipment. Worth Data offers the following types of undecoded scanners to attach to any of our bar code decoders and portable products:

Worth Data also offers decoded scanners that connect as a USB keyboard or as a legacy 6 Pin Mini Din PS/2 Keyboard wedge. These scanners use the same technology and housing as the scanners shown here, but they include the bar code decoder and output technology all in the same housing. Wand Scanners

hand with wand
Many of our WDP P22 and WDR R22 readers are sold with wand scanners. Our wand scanners are inexpensive yet durable and manufactured to our strict specifications. You definitely want to use a wand scanner when:

• bar codes are close together (like on a menu) and there is a high probability of scanning more than one bar code at a time when using a laser scanner.

Our F52 wand sells for $100.00 and can be used with the following decoders:

• WDP P01 (old)
• WDP P11/12 (old)
WDP P22
WDR R22

Slot Badge Scanners

slot scannerThe slot badge scanner is operated by sliding a bar coded badge through the slot. This scanner substitutes for a wand, or it can be attached as a second scanner to the WDP and WDR. It can also be used on a TriCoder with a power supply attached.

This unit operates best with the center of the bar code 1/2" from the sliding edge of the card. Card decks are provided for the setup of the decoder. This slot badge scanner is rugged beyond any competitive product on the market. We have sold others in the past, and we have always returned to this product because it has held up for so well in conditions such as health clubs, which have hundreds of uses seven days per week.

The slot badge scanner is available in visible light (F59) or in infrared light (F24) for black on black security bar codes. The price is $100.00. Slot Badge Scanners can be used with the following models:

• WDP P01 (old)
• WDP P11/12 (old)
WDP P22
WDR R22

NEW! LZ150 Laser Scanner - Undecoded Laser Scanner
lz300 scanner

The LZ150 Laser Scanner is our new cost-effective entry level laser scanner that is only slightly more expensive than a wand at $179.00! The LZ150 laser is able to scan from 2” to 8 ” away from a typical UPC bar code. This replaces our older CCD scanners and offers much better range, improved decode speed and response, wider bar code decoding, and of course the benefit of a laser line for aiming and ease of use! The undecoded LZ150 can be used with the following readers:

WDP P22
WDR R22
TriCoder T54
T701 RF Terminal
T802 RF Terminal

You can use the LZ150 laser in almost 80-90% of bar code scanning situations. The only time you would not use it is if you are scanning bar codes that are very close together (like a menu), if you need to read barcodes that are more than 8" away, or bar codes that are very high density. The range of this scanner is almost double the CCD scanner it has replaced, plus it has the added bonus of having a laser beam for aiming and scanning, all at the same price. The LZ150 scanner will read bar codes with a small nominal bar width of 5mil (.005" - 0.13mm), which is equivalent to an 12 CPI Code 39 bar code. If you need to read higher density codes, or you want to read from even further away, then you should take a look at our more powerful LZ300 or even our industrial strength LZ400 Laser Scanners below.

LZ150 Decode Range

It is also available as a USB Keyboard model or and Integrated Keyboard Wedge Reader, the LZ150-WDP - the decoder is built right into the scanner itself!

The LZ150 laser is priced at only $179.00.

LZ300 Laser Scanner - Undecoded Laser Scanner
lz300 scannerThe LZ300 Laser scanner is a general purpose low-power laser scanner that many retail and POS customers prefer. It can read bar codes from up to 10” away. The laser is very durable - it is drop tested with multiple 5 ft. drops to concrete, and the cord was made to survive 1,000,000 bends. This laser uses the Symbol®-Motorola® 1200WA scan engine, can read any type of printed media and scans high density bar codes down to a 4 mil narrow bar width. The LZ300 Laser Scanner is compatible with:

• WDP P11/12 (old)
WDP P22
WDR R22
• TriCoder T52/T62, T53/T63
TriCoder T54, T64
• RF Terminal T71
T701 RF Terminal
T802 RF Terminal

Use the LZ300 for desktop scanning or in a stand - the only time you would not want to use the LZ300 is if you are trying to scan bar codes that are very close together (like a menu) or when you need greater range (>10”).

The LZ300 laser is priced at $399.00.

LZ400 Laser Scanner - Undecoded Laser Scanner
lz400The LZ400 Laser Scanner is an industrial-quality performer. It reads up to 15” from the bar code and is excellent for reading bar codes printed on any media. The LZ400 is very fast - scanning 36 times per second - reading is instantaneous! The LZ400 uses the Symbol® 1200 scan engine and carries a 3 year warranty. The LZ400 Laser Scanner is compatible with:

• WDP P11/12 (old)
WDP P22
WDR R22
• TriCoder T52/T62, T53/T63
TriCoder T54, T64
• RF Terminal T71
T701 RF Terminal
T802 RF Terminal

The LZ400 is the perfect choice for warehouse-type applications where distance and durability are vital. It has improved decode range compared to our the LZ150 and the LZ300. This laser also has a special aiming dot feature that can be enabled. With the aiming dot turned on a bright laser dot is sent out first to help the operator position the beam correctly before the beam spreads to read the code. This works very well for high shelves and reading automobile VIN barcodes through a windshield.

The LZ400 sells for $499.00.

Because Worth Data manufactures these laser scanners, we can confidently state that we will turnaround any necessary repair within 24 hours of receipt. Any of these lasers are ideal for use with the WDP, WDR, TriCoder, and RF Terminals.

Extra Long Range Laser

psc long range laserThis laser was designed for long range scanning - up to 25 feet on a 100 mil retro-reflective bar codes. It reads normal bar codes up close as well (6.8 mil minimum bar width). It has a two-position trigger; the first trigger pull provides an aiming spot, the second activates the scanning beam. The Extra Long Range is compatible with the following readers:

TriCoder T54/T64
• RF Terminal T71
T701 RF Terminal
T802 RF Terminal

The Extra Long Range Laser has a 1 year warranty and sells for $699.00

Class II Laser
