USB interface. You can upload data, download tables
and change the TriCoder setup without touching a key
on the TriCoder! Our TriCoder Utilities for Windows®
takes care of it all - configuration changes and program
downloads are just a click away!
512K Memory
All 512K of memory
is available for user data storage; no memory is
taken up for programs or voice messages. The 512K
memory corresponds to 85,333 individual 6 digit bar
codes that can be stored in memory.
Voice Prompting in Addition
to the LCD Display
You
can pre-record up to 99 custom
audible voice messages in addition
to the standard displayable prompts
on the 4x20 LCD. Your pre-recorded
messages play at the times you
have specified. The voice messages
are clear and easily heard through
either the high quality speaker
or through an earphone in noisy
environments. Voice messages are
not required. You can use the traditional
display only, or display in conjunction
with voice prompts. Voice messages
are beneficial in dimly lit or
extreme cold areas, can facilitate
faster scanning, and can be recorded
in any language. This is a Worth

USB Interface
For
USB interface, all models of the TriCoder feature
a built-in USB port for quick connection and easy
communication using the C21 USB Cable. Data can be
uploaded into a file or directly into the application
programs as keyboard data. High
speed USB Uploading (using our
supplied high-speed USB driver) transfers data 40
times faster than your serial port, and hundreds
of times faster than your keyboard! USB
offers the best of both worlds - simple keyboard
input and lightning-fast data uploads, firmware
changes, program uploads/downloads, and table downloads!
The TriCoder Utilities supports
USB uploads and downloads in Windows 7, Vista, XP, 2000, NT, ME, or 98SE.
Serial Uploading
The T54
TriCoder can also be connected to a RS-232 serial
port. Data can then
be uploaded to any computer with a serial port into
a file or directly into the application programs.
TriCoder Utilities for Windows is included for uploading
of data and programs to the host computer via the
Serial port. (The TriCoder Utilities files that come
with the TriCoder can also be downloaded from our Download
Page.) Legacy Keyboard Interface
If
you can't use USB or Serial, you can still
upload collected data as keyed
data by connecting the TriCoder in
series with the keyboard, using
a Y-Cable. Data is uploaded
as keyboard data to your keyboard
port. Keyboard Y-Cable interfaces
are available for PC/XT/AT, PS/2
keyboard, or ADB Macintosh keyboards.
(Keyboard input with a Y-Cable requires the user to change an internal jumper).
Excel Plug-In included Free!
Using the KwikCount/EX™ add-in, you can identify which worksheet columns you wish the TriCoder data to be flowed into. To update existing Excel worksheets, simply designate which field sequence (i.e. the stock number) is the controlling "key" or "lookup" field and then link it to the appropriate column in the worksheet. You can add value to a quantity column, remove values from your columns, or overwrite a column.
Use Your Choice of Laser Scanners
The
T54 TriCoder supports attachment
of your choice of bar code scanners
including; the Worth Data LZ160, LZ300 or LZ400
laser scanners, the Extra Long Range Laser, and even our 510-2D scanner. For one handed use, without cords, take a look at the LT54 integrated
laser TriCoder which offers a built in
laser scanner so that the corded scanner
is not needed.
No Programming Necessary
You
don't need to program the TriCoder
if you can use either of the two
built-in programs provided. Here's
what they do:
- Program 1 records all bar codes
read.
- Program 2 records
item numbers and quantities (Including
playing of Voice Messages).
Easy Programming
The TriCoder comes
with its own built-in program generator. You just
describe the text and sequence of prompts plus the
input data characteristics. The TriCoder then generates
a working program. A novice programmer can master
TriCoder programming in 10 minutes. Up to 4 programs,
(3 user written) can reside within. It's powerful

Virtual TriCoder Program Generator
If
you use USB or Serial interface,
you can create programs for
the TriCoder on a Windows 7, Vista, XP, 2000, NT, ME, or 98SE machine using
the Virtual TriCoder software tool. A TriCoder
program can be written, stored
and tested on the computer, and
then downloaded to the
TriCoder.
The Virtual TriCoder is included
with all TriCoder's and can be downloaded
from our Download
Page. Of course programs can
be written right on the TriCoder
unit as usual. Using the Virtual
TriCoder is helpful for people
who prefer to develop on their
desktop, or who have several very
complicated programs that they
want to test and develop for later
downloading to the TriCoder. You
can even download the Virtual TriCoder
to evaluate TriCoder programming
before you buy!

Portable Printer Support
The TriCoder supports the
easy-to-use Zebra Portable Printers including the Cameo 2 & QL320 printers shown below - There is also support for the QL320 Plus, QL 220 Plus, and the QL 420 Plus all using our serial C12 Printer Cable which you can order below.
The Zebra Cameo 2 is a mobile receipt printer with a magstripe scanner built in. It is available
from Worth Data at a special closeout price of only $399. This lightweight,
ergonomically designed portable printer is excellent
choice for POS, point of purchase, hospitality and anywhere a receipt is needed and/or MagStripe input in required.
Using standard TriCoder programming,
data collected in the TriCoder can be sent to the printer
for receipt printing. These
printers greatly increase the functionality of the
TriCoder. See below for pricing. You can also connect to any other portable printer that has a serial port if you make your own custom cable.
Temperature Monitoring and Recording
 The TriCoder can also be used to collect temperature data using our TP50 Temperature Probe.
The TP50 Temperature Probe can be used to check internal temperature of foods and liquids, while the TriCoder alerts the operator if the measured temperature is outside the pre-determined safe range. This is perfect for Food Safety regulatory requirements. Temperature data can be date and time stamped, giving you precise temperature and time records to upload to your computer. The TP50 is only
