The TriCoder is the perfect tool for keeping track of your inventory, doing cycle counts, and updating POS or accounting software with up to date inventory counts. Whether you are using a spreadsheet like Excel to keep track of your inventory, or software programs like QuickBooks® or Sage Accounting, the TriCoder can easily update your inventory counts. Many programs can simply import a file you can easily create with the TriCoder.

The LT5150H is less than 11 ounces, complete with integrated 1D bar code laser scanner, gun handle, and the long life Li-ion battery.

Simple Operation
Each scan and each time you press the Enter key, data is stored in the unit for later uploading to your host software, a file, or directly into Excel.

2 MB Memory
All 2MB of memory is available for user data storage; no memory is taken up for programs or voice messages. The 2MB of memory may not sound like much in our modern world, but it corresponds to scanning over 200,000 individual 10 digit bar codes before the memory would be full.

Voice Prompting in Addition to the LCD Display
You can pre-record up to 99 custom audible voice messages in addition to the standard displayable prompts on the 15 Line LCD. Your pre-recorded messages play at the times you have specified. The voice messages are clear and easily heard through speaker on the TriCoder. Voice prompts are a Worth Data exclusive and patented feature.

Voice messages are not required. You can use the traditional display only, or display in conjunction with voice prompts. Voice messages are beneficial in dimly lit or extreme cold areas, can facilitate faster scanning, and can be recorded in any language. The Voice prompts are recorded on a Windows computer using our Hardware Utilites program. These messages, in WAV format, are then uploaded to the TriCoder for playback during data collection. There is no recording device or microphone on the TriCoder, all voice files are created and formated in our Hardware Utilities program on a PC.

USB Interface
The TriCoder features built-in USB for quick connection and easy communication using the Type C USB ports and the included C26 USB Cable. USB offers the best of both worlds - simple keyboard input and lightning-fast data uploads.

Firmware changes, program uploads/downloads, voice uploads, setup, and table downloads are handled by our Hardware Utilities 3.0 software [DOWNLOAD] which supports USB uploads and downloads in Windows 11 or 10 on x86 Intel and AMD PC's -- both 32-bit or 64-bit systems.

For Windows ARM PC's, macOS, and Linux, the TriCoder can be setup as an HID Keyboard device for direct uploading into any software as a keyboard device -- data can be uploaded into a file, or directly into any application program.

Excel Plug-In included Free!
Using the free KwikCount/EX™ add-in you can easily upload your collected data directly into Excel - just identify which worksheet columns you wish the TriCoder data to be flowed into and which field sequence (i.e. the stock number) is the controlling "index" or "lookup" field and then link the additional collected data to the appropriate column(s) in your worksheet.

When the data is downloaded from the TriCoder to Excel, the field identified as the “Index Field" is read and that column is searched until matched. Once the “Index Field” is matched, KwikCount searches that row and updates the additional field columns according to your linking specifications.

When the data is flowed into the corresponding columns for each field in the same row as the “Index Field", the data is accumulated, subtracted, or overwritten according to the linking instructions you have specified. Receipts can be added, shipments can be subtracted, new physical counts can be overwritten, or data can be written into a new row.

You can even create a new worksheet from freshly scanned data and save this new Excel file to create a new inventory database.

Powerful Inventory Programs Pre-Installed
You don't need to program the TriCoder for many inventory tasks, just use any of the three built-in programs pre-installed in the TriCoder. Here's what they do:

• Program 2 records item numbers and quantities (Including playing of Voice Messages).
• Program 3 also records item numbers and quantities - with automated Qty "1" entry

Create Custom Programs
The TriCoder comes with its own built-in program generator to help you create and/or modify the existing programs. You just describe the text and sequence of prompts plus the input data characteristics you would like and the TriCoder generates a working program. A novice programmer can master TriCoder programming in 10 minutes. Up to 4 programs, (3 custom user written) can reside within. It's powerful too! Programming features available include:

Advanced Ergonomics
The LT5150H & LT5250H TriCoders are designed with the ergonomics of the user in mind. They use a high visibility 15 Line TFT Color QVGA LCD Display for use indoors and outdoors. In addition, the keypad layout has been designed to make scanning and keying easier. The small size and weight of the unit, along with the curved shape, make it comfortable and easy to hold for long periods of time. The ergonomic shape of the gun handle makes scanning much easier for all day use.

Bar Code Scanning
The LT5150H TriCoders come with a high speed 1D barcode laser scanner built right into the top of the unit. When you press the scan button, or the trigger on the handle, a laser beam scans at 100 times per second to pick up even poorly printed or damaged bar codes easily. The unit can also scan very high density codes with narrow bars as small as 2.5mil .0025" (0.064mm) - equivalent to 23cpi Code 39!

Below is the chart of the typical range of reading on the LT5101 & LT5101H with the Integrated Laser Engine.

A 6 mil barcode is considered high density, the 10mil and 14mil are typical general purpose medium density, and the 40 mil and 100 mil are large low density codes.

The LT5150H read standard 1D bar codes including; UPC/EAN, UCC-EAN-128, Code 39, Full ASCII Code 39, Code 128, GS1-128, ITF-14, GTIN, Codabar, MSI Plessey, GS1 DataBar (RSS-14) omni and stacked variants, ITF Interleaved 2 of 5, Standard 2 of 5, Bookland EAN, Code 11, LabelCode4, LabelCode5, Storage Tek, and Code 93. The reader auto discriminates automatically.

2D Matrix & Omni-Directional Bar Code Scanning
The LT5250H TriCoders come with a omni-directional 2D bar code imaging scanner built right into the top of the unit. When you press the scan button, or the trigger on the handle, a high speed imaging engine scans 2D matrix barcodes, as well as standard 1D bar codes instantly. The scan engine is omni-directional, so you don't have to have the bar code lined up to scan it - making data entry even faster. 

It reads all popular 2D matrix type bar codes such as PDF417, MicroPDF417, MaxiCode, DataMatrix (ECC 2000), GS1-DataMatrix, Composite Codes, Aztec, QR Code, and MicroQR Code, MIL-STD-129, MIL-STD-130 UID codes, as well as the Postal Codes USPS Intelligent Mail Bar Code, US Postnet, along with many others. The TriCoder will store the first 99 characters in any 2D bar code.

The 2D TriCoder Models are great for remote scanning of:

Internal Li-ion Rechargeable Battery
The average user will see well over 95,000 scans before the unit will need to be recharged. Many users only recharge the unit weekly or even monthly. With our advanced battery charging, including a USB charging cable with larger AWG you can do a full charge in 4 hours or less! Intelligent charging replenishes only the power used — no need to fully discharge batteries or wait through a full charging cycle for partially used batteries! The battery is built into the HXX50 handle and has a capacity of 5000mAh. In the event of failure the entire Handle and battery is field replaceable — via 2 screws.

Protection Options
We have an optional leather carry case - Model F42 - that offers additional protection for your TriCoder. The case has a clear cover over the keypad area, is padded, and has a shoulder strap.

We also offer a Silicone Case - Model SIL-BOOT - the case has thick corners, and additional pocketed areas, to provide cushioning and protection from drops and hits. This will help protect your TriCoder from accidental damage. You can not use the SIL-BOOT and the F42 Leather case together.
